GUIDANCE

Lauren’s primary goal is for students to be admitted into multiple best-fit schools that they are excited about and ultimately choose the school that suits them the best- academically, socially, and financially. This goal is achieved through hard work and active engagement in the admissions process.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

The most rewarding part of the entire journey is the personal growth and confidence that students gain and take with them into their next chapter.

When navigating this process alone, students and families can feel overwhelmed by the sea of information and often do not know where to begin. To help ease this anxiety, Lauren takes great care to provide an admissions roadmap consisting of best practices for students and families to follow with individualized modifications and personalized attention along the way. Each student’s journey is unique, yet there is a general timeline that equips students to navigate the admissions terrain effectively and proactively. This, in turn, helps families feel more at ease and students feel empowered and confident about their future.

ROADMAP

After an initial 30-minute free consultation, students and families can decide among three options depending on their needs and priorities.
Comprehensive College Plan
  • An In-depth interview with the student (comprehensive information intake)
  • Personality assessments and learning style inventories (including You Science ® Assessment)
  • Transcript review and standardized testing planning
  • Initial college visit review and exercises that help build a list of key college characteristics that best suit the student(re-evaluation of this criteria is ongoing)
  • Development of the initial broader college list with consideration of academic, social, and financial fit
  • Review of best tools for researching colleges/ tracking research/ college visit planning
  • Support narrowing list to ensure a well-balanced, manageable list of schools based on fit and an appropriate range of admissibility
  • Résumé building support
  • Interview practice
  • Comprehensive essay review
  • Assistance with navigating multiple application platforms and final proofing
  • Identification of additional services and opportunities for the student (SAT/ACT prep, tutoring, summer enrichment, etc.)
  • Strategic advising on application options (Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision, Rolling Admission)
  • Application tracking, providing a timeline and accountability
  • Review of admission decisions and guidance on managing waitlist and deferral decisions along with support comparing admissions decisions/ offers.

Express College Plan
  • This option is a trimmed down version of the Comprehensive Plan with tracked hours limited to 30 in total.

Hourly College Consulting
  • This option allows for an ala carte approach based on the individual needs of the student.

All meetings can occur online, so distance is not an issue. Likewise, all meetings could be performed in person as well. Most students and families prefer a hybrid approach.
